Broccoli Side Effects
Broccoli, a highly nutritious vegetable, can have side effects if consumed excessively. The most common side effect is flatulence or bowel irritation due to its high fiber content. Additionally, broccoli contains goitrogens that can impact thyroid function, leading to issues like goitre and hyperthyroidism. Excessive broccoli consumption can also cause gastric issues, bowel irritation, and potentially increase the risk of an ischemic stroke if not cooked properly. It's recommended to limit broccoli intake to one or two cups a day of cooked broccoli to avoid these side effects.
